Referral Pulse

The cardiologist who used to send 8 cath referrals a month is now sending 2. You don't know yet.

Specialty practices depend on a steady stream of referring providers — but most have no real-time visibility into whether that stream is growing, stable, or quietly drying up. By the time you notice the revenue's gone, the relationship is already gone too.

Upload your EHR referral data as a CSV. Referral Pulse maps referral flow and leakage across your referring network, calculates the dollar value of every referral source, surfaces cooling alerts before volume loss is permanent, and drafts personalized outreach you can send today.

    Where referral revenue silently leaks

Three failure modes that don't show up until the quarterly P&L — by which point the relationship is already cold:

    Cooling referrals, not lost ones

Most groups can name the providers who stopped referring entirely. Almost none can name the ones who quietly cut volume in half. The ones who cut in half are usually salvageable — the ones who stopped aren't.

Outreach by gut, not by data

Marketing dollars and physician-liaison time get spent on whoever's loudest, whoever the practice manager remembers, or whoever sends thank-you cards. The actual high-yield outreach targets are invisible without a model.

    Generic follow-up that doesn't work

A 'thanks for the referrals' email to a provider who hasn't sent any in six months reads as automated. The note that works is specific to procedures they've sent and case types they could be sending — and writing those by hand doesn't scale.

    What Referral Pulse does

Upload your CSV. Get four structured outputs back, in this order:

    1 · Referral map

Visual flow of every referring relationship

Heat map of high- and low-performing referrers, with referral type, volume trend, and recency. The first time most practices see their referral graph as data instead of memory.

    2 · Dollar value

What every referrer is actually worth

Each referral source priced using an ISPOR-compliant Budget Impact Model. Now the conversation about marketing spend has a denominator. Outreach targeting becomes a math problem, not a politics problem.

    3 · Cooling alerts

Catch the half-volume drop before it goes to zero

Time-windowed alerts on referrers whose volume is meaningfully off baseline. Not 'they sent zero' — 'they're trending wrong.' That's where outreach actually saves the relationship.

    4 · Drafted outreach

    Personalized messages, ready to send

Drafts tailored to the specific procedures each provider has sent and the case types they could be sending. Thank-yous for warm referrers, check-ins for cooling ones, targeted notes for under-utilized ones. You edit, you send.

Why this is built for physician practices, not enterprise health systems

    📤

    CSV upload, not 9-month integration

Referral data export from your EHR is enough. No HL7 build, no FHIR negotiation, no 6-month vendor onboarding. Insight in days, not quarters.

    📐

    ISPOR-compliant value model

Referral dollar values use a published, defensible Budget Impact Model — not a black-box vendor formula. The math is auditable.

    🩺

Built for the size of practice you actually have

Most referral-analytics platforms target 100-provider health systems. Referral Pulse is built for IR, cardiology, GI, ortho, oncology — single-specialty groups and multispecialty practices that can't staff a marketing team.

    Who uses it

    IR, cardiology, GI, ortho

    Specialty practices with referral-dependent revenue

Procedural specialties whose case volume is determined by who refers. Referral Pulse is the practice-growth tool that prioritizes outreach against actual dollar value.

    Multispecialty groups

Cross-referral within the group + external network

Multispecialty groups using Referral Pulse to track both internal referrals (specialty-to-specialty within the group) and external referring providers. Surfaces internal leakage too.

    Common questions

What CSV format does it accept?

Standard EHR referral exports — referring provider, referral date, procedure / encounter type, and a patient or referral identifier. We handle the format normalization. Most EHRs export this in 2 minutes.

    Does Referral Pulse handle PHI?

Patient identifiers can be hashed or stripped before upload — Referral Pulse needs the referring-provider relationship and procedure category, not patient identity. Validation Partner deployments are configured to minimize PHI exposure.

    Free vs. paid?

Free tier is available. Validation Partner program gives full access in exchange for structured feedback. Beyond that, Referral Pulse has paid tiers based on practice size and feature depth — talk to us for pricing.

How is this different from CRM?

CRMs track activities. Referral Pulse tracks referral economics — what each provider actually generates, where it's trending, and what to say to them. CRM is a record system; Referral Pulse is a decision system.

Catch cooling referrers before the volume's gone.
